II. OUTREACH INITIATIVES
Description of Activity
- Participation by President/General Manager in Job Fair on May 9, 2005 sponsored by Times Union.
- Internship program at Anastos Media Group, Inc. with Shenendehehowa School System through which a student that is interested in radio broadcasting obtains real-life experience in the field. During the reporting period, a Shenendehehowa School student was shown the basics of the broadcast industry and was assigned a program to help promote under the supervision of station management.
- Paid internship program at Anastos Media Group, Inc. with The New School of Radio. Anastos Media Group, Inc. often asks for interns from The New School of Radio to help with our local sporting event broadcasts. Board operations and continuity are the skills taught.
- We participate in a scholarship program designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. The Connecticut School of Broadcasting provides a $5000.00 a year scholarship named after Ernie Anastos, the founder and majority owner of Anastos Media Group, Inc. Anastos Media Group, Inc. funds this scholarship.
Anastos Media does offer an Internship Program.
